Following the confirmation of African swine fever in domestic pigs in Gradište, we advise all hunters and hunting authorities to exercise heightened vigilance and rigorously implement all prescribed measures outlined in the African swine fever surveillance program. It is essential to adhere to all provisions to prevent and promptly detect the spread of African swine fever.
The control measures outlined by the Order on Control Measures for the Eradication of African Swine Fever (ASF) in the Republic of Croatia are in the restricted areas. Additional measures and requirements are stipulated for all facilities housing pigs across the country's territory. Hunters must also adhere to special conditions regarding wild pigs.
Further details about the program and the present circumstances can be accessed via the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries's website, Directorate for Veterinary Medicine and Food Safety.
Kindly be informed that the discovery of a wild boar carcass should be promptly reported to the relevant authorised veterinary institution, the hunting officer overseeing the respective hunting grounds, or via email at veterinarstvo@mps.hr. You may also contact the on-duty personnel at 099/4392-507 outside regular business hours.
