Slovenians Claim Victory in Thrilling Second Grand Prix Competition at Bzenica!

The second Croatian Grand Prix in combined hunting shooting, organized by the International Federation of Target Shooting (FITASC) in collaboration with the Croatian Hunting Association, concluded on Saturday afternoon with shooters from Slovenia achieving victory. The event attracted a total of 45 competitors representing Hungary, Latvia, Slovenia, and Croatia. It was held at the Požega-Slavonia County Hunting Association shooting range, which is recognized as one of the most well-equipped facilities within this region of Europe. 

The competition concluded with Miha Travner securing first place, having accumulated a total of 763 points. Andras Varga from Hungary attained the second position with a score of 759 points, while Marjan Sadek from Slovenia earned third place, amassing a total of 741 points. Furthermore, 27 shooters from Croatia participated in the event, with notable performances including Majkl Brlas, who placed seventh with a score of 728 points, and Danijel Škunca, who achieved tenth place with a total of 723 points.  

In the senior category, Dušan Urankar from Slovenia achieved the highest ranking with a score of 714 points. Miljenko Kos secured second place with a total of 695 points, while third place was also attained by Dušan Žehelj.

In the veteran category, Slovenian competitor Igor Pičulin achieved a score of 724 points. In the junior category, Jan Garmut distinguished himself by attaining 721 points, while Nino Matak secured a score of 587 points.

The Croatian Hunting Association has been a member of the International Federation of Practical Shooting (FITASC) since 2023. In conjunction with its centennial celebration this year, the Association will host the FITASC European Hunting Shooting Championship. This prestigious event is scheduled to take place from June 27 to June 29 at the shooting range in Bzenica.
